COUNCIL APPOINTMENTS
The Council of the Township of Scugog invites additional applications from members of the public who are qualified electors (18 years of age, Canadian Citizen) in the Township of Scugog who wish to have their names considered for appointment to the following Committees for this Council term:
Scugog Heritage & Museum Committee – 1 member
This Joint Committee will promote the preservation of buildings that have architectural and historical significance, act as a resource to residents interested in conserving structures of historic and/or architectural interest, review development applications, advise Council on conserving heritage properties and will identify and respond to issues that may affect the operation of the Museum and Archives, provide advice on the operations, promote the activities and programs offered by the Museum and Archives.
Blackstock Recreation Advisory Committee – 2 members
This Committee will identify and respond to issues that may affect the operation of the Complex and the OldTown Hall, will provide advice on the operations, promote the activities and programs offered by the Complex and OldTown Hall.
Public Art Advisory Committee – 2 members
This Committee will advise on all aspects of the Public Art Policy, planning, education and promotion as well as the acceptance of new donations and projects.
Scugog Sports Hall of Fame Committee - 2 members
This Committee is the final determining body for the selection of inductees into the Scugog Sports Hall of Fame and shall administer all matters including the operation, maintenance and finances.
Scugog Accessibility Advisory Committee - 2 members
This Committee provides advice on the identification, removal and prevention of barriers to people with disabilities with respect to the municipality’s by-laws, programs and services. The Committee also assist with the preparation of the annual Accessibility Plan, reviews site plans and promotes accessibility through publications.
Scugog Seniors Advisory Committee 1 member from Ward 1 and 1 member from Ward 4
The mandate of this Committee is to enrich the lives of seniors in the Township by identifying issues, forming partnerships with other community organizations, advocating for senior’s interests related to health, recreation, transportation, housing and service needs and providing a forum for discussing and resolving issues affecting seniors.
Fenceviewers - 2
Fenceviewers are on call as required to arbitrate line fence fence disputes under the Line Fences Act.
