Scugog Trails


The municipality of Scugog is home to a trail system that accommodates a variety of outdoor activities. Whether you're enjoying a leisurely stroll along the shores of Lake Scugog, or passing through on your snowmobile via the Trans-Canada Trail. We invite nature lovers to delight in discovering Scugog's many natural gems.

Port Perry Waterfront Trail System

Enjoy the scenic views of Lake Scugog along this trail. This trail follows the lakefront from Highway 7A (behind VOS Independent Grocer) to Scugog Line 8 (just north of Canterbury Common). 

Uses: Walking, Biking, Jogging

Length: Approximately 5km

Surface: limestone-based, paved, and woodchip 

Access Points: Queen St., Casmir St., Mary St.

 

Canterbury Common Loop

Enjoy views of the golf course and gardens within the subdivision. Stop at the outlook for a beautiful view of Lake Scugog. 

Length: 2.4km

Access Points: East end of Coulter St. 

 

Rotary Environmental Park 

Begin your journey at the Rowing Clubhouse/Municipal Boat Launch area and walk along the natural shoreline and then loop back on the old railway lane. This trail also features a multi-use boardwalk. 

Length: 1.5km

 

Birdseye Nature Walk

Enjoy the scenic view along the Birdseye Nature walk, beginning between the Marina and Library. 

Length: 1.0km

 

Millenium Trail 

Begin your stroll at the Palmer Park beach. Take in all the naturalizing plantings and the unique bridge crossing, looping back to Water St. by Curts St. 

Length: 1.5km

 

South Port Perry Trail System

Victorian Village Loop

This unique loop is found just off of Union Avenue. The path dips down to a viewing area of the pond. Please not, this area is prone to flooding so exert caution. Exit at Ash and follow Hyland Street to Alma Street linkage and Poplar Park. 

Length: 1km

 

Dr. Bruce Park Loop

This loop includes Robins Trail and Dr. Bruce Park and connnects to the Victorian Village Loop through various linkages. It is a combination of paved and limestone paths. Enjoy the various playgrounds and scenic views while strolling along this loop. Enter this trail at Oddfellows hall, Greenway of Robins Trail. 

Length: 2km

 

Hyland Street/Alma Street/Pine Court Linkage Loop

These are the connecting links throughout the South Port Perry trail. Please watch for signs. 

 

Multi-Use Trails

Cawker's Creek Trail

This trail development is currently underway and includes the lands of Scugog Centre Parkland, Cawker's Creek River Valley; from the Ravines at Cawker Creek to Victoria Street. 

 

Cartwright Fields Trail 

Beautiful scenery for the whole family to enjoy. This trail is perfect for the nature lover at heart. Surrounded by gorgeous trees and nature, this wood chip surface trail is perfect to enjoy a leisurely stroll on. 

Length: 0.5km

 

Blair Martyn Memoial Trail

Located in the East Cross Forest at 4560 Devitt's Road this trail is a beautiful, multi-use trail on the Oak Ridges Moraine. Open daily to hikers, horse back riders, and mountain bike enthusiasts.
