New Animal Shelter for Uxbridge-Scugog

About the New Animal Shelter for Uxbridge-Scugog

The New Animal Shelter for Uxbridge-Scugog is a designated charitable organization (registration number 85317 3300 RR0001) created by a volunteer group of concerned citizens to build a new facility to replace the outdated and inadequate existing shelter. The goal is to raise the estimated $1 million needed to fund the new shelter, scheduled to open in 2015 at 5500 Lakeridge Road. Visit www.animal-shelter.ca for more information on the organization, volunteer opportunities and to make a donation online.

The Board of Directors for the New Animal Shelter for Uxbridge-Scugog has been formed in response to the increasing needs of Scugog and Uxbridge Townships and to the deteriorating state of the current shelter building. It is the mission of this not-for-profit, charitable organization to raise funds to support the development of a new shelter; create communications and community awareness around this important initiative; and to coordinate the actual construction process utilizing the combined efforts of community-based volunteers and paid professionals.
