Director of Community Services

Utilizing your ability to think and act strategically, you will oversee the coordination and general/financial management of your respective department and assist the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) with strategic leadership as a member of the Senior Management Team.

You will be responsible for leading and directing the Township’s planning, building, facilities, recreation, heritage and culture; have a degree in Urban and Regional Planning or equivalent; have at least ten years progressive, responsible experience in a municipal, unionized environment, with five years at a supervisory level, including extensive experience working with elected officials; be a Registered Professional Planner (RPP) and a member of the Canadian Institute of Planners (MCIP) and the Ontario Professional Planners Institute (OPPI).

Chief Building Official Facilities Coordinator

Reporting to the Director of Community Services, the successful candidate will be responsible to plan and coordinate all aspects of administration and enforcement of the Building Code Act and Ontario Building Code as the Chief Building Official for the Township.  This position is also responsible for the coordination of maintenance of Township owned buildings and properties. 

The ideal candidate will have post secondary education level as an engineering or architectural technologist and have successfully completed the provincially mandated examination program administered by the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing relating to the Building Code Act and the Ontario Building Code, including “Powers and Duties of Chief Building Officials”.  In addition, the successful candidate will have a Certified Building Code Official Designation with five to seven years of municipal work experience as a Building Inspector.
