The Township of Scugog annually conducts a Hazard Identification Risk Assessment to review the current and emerging risks for our municipality. The top risks identified for our community are weather-related emergencies, such as severe storms and windstorms. Additionally, worldwide attention is being given to the possibility of a pandemic outbreak.

Being aware of the local risks assists the Municipality in preparing and maintaining its Emergency Plan as well as in the development of realistic training and exercises for key staff.
