SCUGOG SHORES MUSEUMS: VILLAGE, HERITAGE CENTRE & ARCHIVES
The Scugog Shores Museums are made up of two distinct sites: the historic village located on Scugog Island, and the heritage centre & archives, located on the 2nd floor of the Scugog Arena.
The Scugog Shores Museum village is located on beautiful Scugog Island, overlooking the town of Port Perry. The Museum grounds are home to 12 restored buildings in the historic village, heritage flower and vegetable gardens and the Ojibway Heritage Interpretive Lands. Special events, group and school programs are offered throughout the year. Guided tours are provided of the village on a daily basis from Victoria Day to Labour Day.
The Scugog Shores Heritage Centre & Archives, located above the second ice pad at the Scugog Arena, is a 4,000 square-foot development that serves as a home for the Township's archives and offers an exhibit space that's completely accessible to the public. It is also be home to permanent exhibits showcasing local First Nations history and the Scugog Sports Hall of Fame, as well as a rotating gallery which will include art shows and traveling exhibits from larger institutions such as the Royal Ontario Museum.Scugog Shores Museums - Website
