Picnic Shelter Replacement - Joe Fowler Memorial Park

The Township of Scugog has contracted Onit Construction to replace the picnic shelter located in Joe Fowler Memorial Park. The work involves demolition of the existing structure and construction of a new picnic shelter.

The work is scheduled to begin June 5, 2023 and is expected to be completed by early Fall 2023.

Palmer Park Playground Temporary Closure for Completion of the Rubber Play Surface 

Palmer Park Playground is tentatively scheduled to be closed starting Wednesday May 24, 2023 to complete the rubber play surface. With the warmer weather, the rubber tile surface can now be properly adhered together. Follow our social media channels for scheduling updates.

Scugog’s Spring/Summer Recreation, Summer Camp and Aquatic Program Registration Coming Soon

The Township of Scugog is planning to offer a variety of summer camps, aquatic programs, and recreational activities this spring and summer season!

The Leisure and Activity Guide can be viewed online starting Monday, February 27, 2023. Registration will open on Monday, March 6, 2023 at 7:00 a.m. for all spring recreation programs. Registration will open on Monday, March 20, 2023 at 7:00 a.m. for all summer camp, summer recreation programs and aquatic programs.

Palmer Park Playground Complete

The New Inclusive Playground at Palmer Park is Complete!

Township of Scugog Council and staff are excited to announce the completion of a new inclusive playground at Palmer Park.  A grand opening will be planned for the spring of 2023. 

We would like to remind residents that there is no maintenance of playgrounds during winter months and snow and ice may build up. So, please take extra care if you choose to use a playground and do so at your own risk.

LGBTQ2S+ Free Family Skate at the Scugog Arena

The Township of Scugog will be hosting an LGBTQ2S+ Free Family Skate this coming Sunday, December 18, 2023 at the Scugog Arena sponsored by Two Blokes Cider and PFlag Durham. We encourage everyone to come out and enjoy an inclusive skate to celebrate diversity in our community.

The free skate will be offered from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. at the Scugog Arena with a live DJ and performances.
