The Lookout closing for drop-in visitors until the spring

The Lookout is Scugog's free, supervised youth drop-in space. It is located on the upper floor of the Scugog Community Recreation Centre (1655 Reach St., Port Perry). Due to COVID restrictions currently in place, we have decided to close the Lookout starting today, Tuesday, November 16 for drop-in visitors.

Make sure to follow us to find out about our holiday special event in December, and a grand re-opening in the spring!

Scugog – Carbon Monoxide (CO) Awareness Week takes place each year to better prepare homeowners to protect themselves and their families from the dangers of carbon monoxide. This year, in Durham Region, the campaign will span for two weeks as the Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA), the Hawkins-Gignac Foundation and the Fire Services of Durham Region have teamed up to ensure that all households have the opportunity to learn more.

Appointments being scheduled to replace outdated residential water meters

Whitby, Ontario – On behalf of The Regional Municipality of Durham, Neptune Technology Group will be scheduling appointments with property owners whose water meters are 20 years or older.

When: Residents may receive notices from now until March 2022.  

Why: To upgrade existing water meters and update user accounts to allow the Region of Durham to conduct remote readings.
