The Township of Scugog is preparing the 2021 budget and wants to hear from residents and property owners about their budget priorities. Scugog provides programs and services to the community based on an annual Operating and Capital budget. Currently, the Township is recovering from COVID-19 with a renewed focus on the health and safety of our residents. Road, bridge and sidewalk improvements still remain a top priority for Mayor and Council.

The Township of Scugog will be offering recreation and fitness programs this Fall starting the week of Saturday, September 19.
A full listing of Recreation Programs can be viewed online at www.scugog.ca/registration. Registration for recreation and fitness programs opens on Friday, September 4 at 7 A.M. with the exception of pickleball court reservations, that will open for registration two days prior to the scheduled court time. The Township of Scugog is postponing the Scugog Sports Hall of Fame’s 2020 Induction Ceremony, which traditionally runs in November, due to the restrictions in place to manage the novel coronavirus pandemic.

With the school year quickly approaching, Scugog is working hard to fill crossing guard positions (regular and spare) for the 2020-2021 school year.
Currently the township is actively recruiting for three regular positions and for spare guards.
At this point the township will not be able to provide crossing guards to the following locations* due to staffing shortages;
1. Old Scugog Road and Alexander Street (Blackstock)

Through Ontario’s framework to reopening the Province, guidelines have been expanded to now include reopening of additional recreation facilities and amenities. Scugog will reopen Scugog Community Recreation Centre for some recreation programming and ice sports. As well, community halls around Scugog will also be permitted to open.
