Holiday Closures The Township of Scugog Municipal Office and Fire Administration Office will be closed December 23 @ 12:00pm - January 3 @ 8:30am *Exception for Durham Region Health Department, open December 28 & 29 until 4:30pm and December 30 until 12:00pm Scugog Community Recreation Centre and Blackstock Recreation Complex will be closed December 24 @ 11:00am December 25 & 26 December 31 @ 11:00am January 1 

Appointment of Citizens to Boards and Committees for the New Council Term - January 2023

The Council of the Corporation of the Township of Scugog is seeking community-minded individuals to submit their names for consideration as appointees to the following committees and positions for the 2022 – 2026 term of Council.

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and reside within the Township of Scugog. Each board and committee have a specific mandate and generally meets monthly or on an as required basis.  Membership appointments are for a four-year term.

With a significant snowstorm expected tomorrow, it is a great time to share some information about how the Township provides road maintenance during and after storms. 

The Township of Scugog provides winter maintenance for 826 lane kilometers of road.  Most of the service is provided by a day shift that works 7:00 am to 3:30 pm but usually begins work at 4:00 am when there is a winter weather...

LGBTQ2S+ Free Family Skate at the Scugog Arena

The Township of Scugog will be hosting an LGBTQ2S+ Free Family Skate this coming Sunday, December 18, 2023 at the Scugog Arena sponsored by Two Blokes Cider and PFlag Durham. We encourage everyone to come out and enjoy an inclusive skate to celebrate diversity in our community.

The free skate will be offered from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. at the Scugog Arena with a live DJ and performances.

2023 Burn Permit Applications Available December 15

A permit is required for all burning in Scugog and all 2022 burn permits expire on December 31 at 11:59pm. 2023 burn permits will be available for purchase beginning on December 15 at 9:00am. From December 15 at 9:00am to December 31 at 11:59pm, Scugog Fire will be accepting any 2022 or 2023 burn permits, that have been approved and paid for, as valid. This transition period is to allow for burning over the holidays when the fire administration office is closed.
