COVID-19 Public Notice #2: Scugog Municipal Office closed to the public effective immediately

The Township of Scugog is taking additional health and safety measures to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the community. Effective immediately, the Municipal Office (Town Hall) will be closed to the public. All Advisory Committee and Board meetings have also been suspended. A burn ban is in effect and no burn permits will be issued.

Public Notice Closure of Scugog Public Facilities and Cancellation of Camps and Programs

Following the Province of Ontario’s order to close publicly funded schools until April 5, 2020, the Township of Scugog will be supporting the government’s efforts to curtail the spread of COVID-19 by taking the following actions:

All public Township facilities, with the exception of Municipal Office (181 Perry St.), will be closed as of:

4:30 pm on March 13, 2020 until April 5, 2020 (inclusive)

COVID-19 Update

On February 29, the Ontario Ministry of Health confirmed two cases of COVID-19 in two individuals that presented at Ajax Pickering Hospital’s emergency department. Lakeridge Health implemented their protocols and the married couple, one of whom travelled to Iran, were tested by the emergency department team and discharged. They are currently at home in self-isolation and being monitored by the Durham Region Health Department. The Province indicates that the risk to Ontarians is still low.
