As part of the Township’s efforts to encourage safe driving habits and lower driving speeds, free lawn signs asking drivers to “Please Slow Down” are now available from the Township.
To obtain a lawn sign, please fill out the form at https://scugog.formbuilder.ca/Road-Safety-Lawn-Sign-Request-Form. Lawn signs can then be picked up at the Municipal Office 181 Perry Street, Port Perry on the following days:

On Wednesday, June 30th, 2021, Council held a virtual Special Council meeting to declare the Office of Councillor – Ward 3 vacant and to consider options for filling the vacancy.
Council unanimously voted in favour of filling the vacancy through an Appointment with an Open Call for Qualified Applicants, which will allow any qualified member of the public to apply to the Township to be considered for appointment as Councillor – Ward 3.
Applications will be accepted from Monday, July 5, 2021...

The news of another discovery of 751 unmarked graves on the former site of the Marieval Indian Residential School at Cowessess First Nation is heartbreaking. It is very sobering to know that more children will be found in the future. We know words are not enough, but we want to express our sadness for the Cowessess First Nation and for the families and survivors of this dark time in Canadian history.

New this summer, the Township of Scugog’s recreation staff are offering a free Park and Play program for children ages 5 to 12 years old.
This new program will bring the fun of Camp Scugog to many parks in our Township. Program leaders will travel to four parks every Tuesday and Thursday and offer an hour of free active games and activities.
To ensure the safety of all participants, a parent or guardian will be required to sign their child in with program leaders where they will be screened for COVID-19...

At the June 21, 2021 Planning & Community Affairs Committee meeting, Council received notice of Ward 3 Councillor Angus Ross’s resignation as Councillor – Ward 3 effective June 29, 2021. Councillor Ross remains an active member of Council and will participate in all meetings until his effective resignation date of June 29, 2021.
