Updated COVID-19 Public Notice #3 - Safety warning for playgrounds and dog park

Posted On Friday March 20, 2020

Health Officials and Durham Region Public Health have provided guidelines as it relates to public spaces like playgrounds. As a result, Scugog staff have placed safety warning signs as well as caution tape around playground structures. The public are asked to avoid visiting and congregating in parks and recreation areas.

Please do not use the park and play space:
• Playground equipment, fencing and gates are not sanitized.

Public health officials remind residents and visitors:
  • • Practice social/public distancing (keep at least 2m away from others).
    • Cover your cough/sneeze (use your upper sleeve or with a tissue). If you cough or sneeze, use hand sanitizer to clean your hands.
    • Avoid touching your face especially your eyes, nose, or mouth.
    • Carry an alcohol-based hand sanitizer and use frequently after touching hard surfaces.
    • Avoid crowds - encourage children to play in small groups and 2m apart from one another.
    • Senior residents or residents with other underlying health issues should refrain from visiting a park during peak times.

Remember to always wash your hands after using the washroom or returning home. Wash your hands or use hand sanitizer before eating, after coughing, after sneezing.
