Birdseye Pool is an outdoor heated aquatic facility open from June to August each summer. Birdseye Pool features a lap pool with five, fifteen metre long lanes and a leisure pool with water features. Birdseye Pool is treated with chlorine and is kept at an average temperature of 85 degrees celsius. The Township of Scugog offers a variety of aquatic programs including affordable private swimming lessons, aquafit, public swim, lane swim, social swim, and more to enjoy. 

During extreme heat alerts, pool hours may be extended. Facility updates will be communicated through our webnews and via social media.

 Birdseye Pool COVID-19 Rules 

The Township of Scugog has adapted our pool rules to meet the COVID-19 public health safety guidelines and requirements.

  • Patrons must not enter the facility if the suspect they have COVID-19 symptoms or have been in contact with someone with COVID-19 
  • If admitted to the pool, maintain physical distancing of 2 metres (6 feet) from other bathers and employees
  • All patrons must wear a mask on deck before entering the pool
  • Patrons must maintain proper hygiene when in the facility
  • Patrons must disinfect their hands with sanitizer when entering and exiting the pool facility
  • No access to changerooms or showers will be provided to the public
  • Patrons are required to shower at home before and after using the pool 
  • Participants should not share water bottles, towels, goggles or any other equipment - water bottles should be filled at home
  • Users shall not spit, cough, urinate or blow their nose in the water
  • Patrons in need of assistance due to physical limitations should receive help from a family member
  • The use of goggles is encouraged to avoid mucus contamination
  • Snorkels are prohibited because they encourage spitting
  • Only PFD's are provided, no pool toys are available to the public
  • Bather load has been reduced to 25% (22 bathers maximum) to allow physical distancing 
  • Lane swim, social swim and public swim will be operating on a reservation system, available at scugog.ca/registration. A time limit for each registration will be enforced by lifeguards
