Please note: The ice has been removed from all Township of Scugog arenas for the 2020/2021 ice season. We look forward to seeing everyone back when safe to re-open.

The Township of Scugog offers ice programs for all ages. View our skating program schedules for the Scugog Community Recreation Centre and Blackstock Recreation Complex. 

Here is what you need to know;

Registration

Pre-registration is required as walk-in participants are not permitted at this time. Registration opens for each program one (1) week prior to the program date and time. Programs do fill up quickly so we encourage participants to create their account ahead of time and register online. There is currently a maximum capacity of ten (10) skaters on the ice. No spectators permitted with the exception of participants under the age of 18 who may have one (1) parent or guardian enter with them. 

Facility Admittance and Exits

Participants must use the entrance that corresponds with their scheduled program.

  • All programs running out of Ice Pad 2 will use the south/east pad 2 doors to enter.
  • All programs running out of Ice Pad 1 will use the main south arena doors.

The entrance doors will remain locked until 10 minutes prior, when participants may enter. Doors will be locked when the program starts and no admittance will be given after the doors are locked. Participants will be asked screening questions prior to their program beginning. All participants will be required to exit the facility using their designated exit for their program within 10 minutes of the program end time. There are no change rooms available at this time. Chairs are set up for participants to get their skates and helmet on. 

All participants must be fully dressed before entering the building. Participants are only permitted to bring with them a small duffle bag with their helmet and skates inside. 

Safety and Sanitation 

  • Masks must be worn in the facility until on the ice. Once on the ice participants may remove their masks.
  • No food or beverage, with the exception of water, is permitted in the facility at this time.
  • Participants are required to arrive dressed in full equipment with the exception of skates and helmet. 
  • No full sized hockey bags allowed in the facility. Skates and helmets can be brought in inside a small duffle bag.

Adult Skate

Skate at own risk in an adult only environment. Helmets recommended. This program is not supervised.

Adult 18+, $4.25
Senior 55+, $3.00

Public Skate

An open skate for all ages. Helmets recommended for all ages. Helmets required for ages 6 and under. Adult supervision required for children 7 years and under. This program is staff supervised. 

All ages, $4.25
Senior 55+, $3.00

Parent & Tot

Slower paced environment for young skaters. Parent and/or guardian must provide constant, active, on-ice supervision. One parent/guardian per child at no cost. Stick and pucks are not permitted. Helmets recommended. Helmets required for 6 and under. This program is not staff supervised.

Pair of 1 Parent and 1 Tot, $3.60

Shinny Hockey

Play hockey just for fun at a game organized by the participants, no body contact is allowed. This program is only supervised by staff during youth shinny. Nets are on the ice for this program. Full equipment required. 

Youth 17 and under, $4.50

Senior 55+, $5.60

Stick and Puck

Work on the fundamentals of hockey and improve your skills. Helmets are required. No body contact, game play or slap shots. Adult supervision required for children 7 years and under at a ratio of one adult per three children. Helmets required. No nets permitted.

Scrimmage

A controlled scrimmage of hockey. Full equipment and helmets required. No body contact or raising of the puck. This program is not staff supervised. No nets permitted.

Senior 55+, $3.00

Ticket Ice

Pay as you go program designed for figure skaters. Must be a Skate Canada member and accompanied by a coach before participating in the program. Proof of membership required. This program is not staff supervised.

All ages, $7.20
