The Government of Canada is asking all Canadians currently returning from any travel outside of Canada, to self-isolate in their home for 14 days after your return.

The request has been issued in order to help limit the spread of COVID-19, which is transmittable even by some people who are not experiencing any symptoms.

By the federal government’s description, self-isolation involves not leaving home unless “absolutely necessary,” such as seeking medical care.

Self-isolation means:

  • Do not stop at the grocery store on your way home from the airport
  • Stay home and keep your distance from others
  • Do not have any visitors; no visits with grandchildren, children, friends you haven’t seen

We realize this can be extremely challenging, especially if you have been outside the country for any extended period of time and require some household essentials.

  • Contact family members, friends or neighbours, before your arrival, and ask them to purchase and drop off the items you are requiring, before you arrive home.
