The Corporate Services Department houses the office of the Municipal Clerk which oversees the 'inward-facing' services of the Township. This department acts as a secretariat to Council, and Committees of Council, to perform the following duties:
- Prepares Agendas and Minutes for Council and Committee meetings
- Maintains corporate records and Vital Statistics
- Runs elections in accordance with the Municipal Elections Act, 1996
- Manages legislative requirements under the Municipal Act, 2001
The Corporate Services Department also oversees Information Technology and Customer Service.
Services
The Corporate Services department provides various services required by Provincial legislation, including:
- The registration of deaths, in accordance with the Vital Statistics Act
- Issuance of marriage licences, in accordance with the Marriage Act
- Freedom of Information requests, in accordance with the Municipal Freedom of Information Protection of Privacy Act
- Accessibility Compliance
The department is also responsible for:
- Maintaining the Township's corporate records
- Commissioners of Oath
- Commissioners of Oath can be processed Monday to Friday (excluding statutory holidays) during the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and may be issued same day. However, a commissioner of oaths may not always be available and so an appointment is recommended.
- Delegation requests

Corporate Communications provides a full news service to the public for the Township of Scugog. News services include:
- Media inquiries and interview requests
- Timely news releases
- Web content and newsletter subscription
- Weekly Township Bulletin alternating weeks in both local papers
