August 28 Palmer Park Playground Closure – Herbicide Spraying in Waterfront Area
Scugog – Please be advised the Palmer Park playground will be temporarily closed Friday, August 28, for herbicide spraying in the waterfront area, in partnership with the Kawartha Region Conservation Authority. The playground is expected to reopen later in the day; however, the spraying area will remain closed to the public for an expected 48 hours. Signage will be put in place to identify the spraying area.
This herbicide spraying is being done to deter the spread of invasive phragmites in the area. The spraying will be done using approved equipment, PPE, and methods of application informed by the Ontario Invasive Plant Council’s Best Management Practices.
We recommend keeping these closures in mind when planning visits to the playground and surrounding areas. To view alternate playground locations, visit our Parks and Playgrounds page.
