Council Highlights - October 2025

Scugog – The Township of Scugog held various public meetings throughout the month of September. Below are some highlights of what was discussed at these meetings:

General Purpose and Administration Committee – October 6, 2025

• Council approved an agreement with The Sandwich Shack for the operation of the Blackstock Arena Concession Booth for a period of one year. At the end of this one-year term, The Sandwich Shack would have the option to renew the lease for a period of four years, subject to Council approval.
• 2025 Capital Project Status and Closing Reports were presented to Council. A full list of projects and their status is available on the agenda.

Planning and Community Affairs Committee – October 20, 2025

• Draft Plan of Subdivision (S-S-2025-01) and Zoning By-law Amendment for 2080 Whitfield Road. Council received the information and comments provided and a future staff report will come to Council. Public comments may be submitted by emailing planning@scugog.ca

Council Meeting – October 27, 2025

• Council supported a delegation request from Oak Ridges Hospice to sponsor their Hockey Night in Port Perry charity event being held at the Scugog Community Recreation Centre.
• Council passed a By-law to adopt an Emergency Management Program and Emergency Response Plan as part of annual compliance with the Act.
• Council adopted the 2026 Fees and Charges which will come into effect January 1, 2026.
