Council Update on the Fairgrounds Lease to the Port Perry Agricultural Society

On April 28, 2025, Scugog Council exercised its ability to discuss lands owned by the Township through s. 239(2)(c) of the Municipal Act, 2001. During the closed session, Council voted to defer a decision for three months regarding the Port Perry Agricultural Society’s request to renew the lease for the Port Perry Fairgrounds, which is set to expire in June 2026. Council directed staff to engage with the Port Perry Agricultural Society during this time and facilitate a collaborative discussion about the future of the Fairgrounds and their lease renewal request.
