Float Plane Crash on Lake Scugog

Please see below statement from Durham Regional Police Service regarding the float plane crash near Williams Point on Lake Scugog. We ask members of the public to avoid the area so emergency services can conduct their investigation.

July 18, 1:35 p.m. - "ONGOING INCIDENT | NORTH DIVISION Members of North Divisions responded to a small plane crash in Lake Scugog near Caesarea at approximately 12:25 p.m. Multiple emergency services have responded and remain on scene at this time. Further updates to follow."

July 18, 3:35 p.m. - "A male in his teens has died after being struck by the plane. The pilot of the aircraft was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries, and the passenger of the plane also had minor injuries.  The Transportation Safety Board of Canada will be attending the scene and taking over the investigation."
