Free Skate with the Grinch - Sunday, December 14

The Public Works and Recreation department is happy to bring back the popular Skate with the Grinch event this winter.

Join the Grinch on Sunday, December 14 at the Scugog and Blackstock Arenas for an unforgettable afternoon of skating, laughter, and holiday cheer. Whether you are a seasoned skater or its your first time on the ice, the Grinch himself will be there to share in the fun, pose for photos and spread some holiday mischief.

Skate Times and Locations:

  • Scugog Arena: Sunday, December 14, 2025, from 12:30 to 1:50 p.m.
  • Blackstock Arena: Sunday, December 14, 2025, from 2:00 to 3:50 p.m.

Public skate is an open skate for all ages. Helmets are required for children aged 6 years and younger but recommended for all ages. Adult supervision is required for children aged 7 years and under. Each skate does have a maximum capacity. Staff will allow admission until capacity is reached.

Don’t miss out on the chance to skate alongside the Grinch. Bring your friends and family, wear your favourite holiday attire and get ready for a festive afternoon.

Free Public Skates at the Scugog Arena

  • Monday, December 22, from 1:30 to 2:50 p.m.
  • Tuesday, December 23, from 1:30 to 2:50 p.m.
  • Sunday, December 28, from 12:30 to 1:50 p.m.
  • Monday, December 29, from 1:30 to 2:50 p.m.
  • Tuesday, December 30, from 1:30 to 2:50 p.m.
  • Friday, January 2, from 1:30 to 2:50 p.m.

Free Public Skates at the Blackstock Arena

  • Saturday, December 27, from 7:00 to 8:50 p.m.
  • Sunday, December 28, from 2:00 to 3:50 p.m.
  • Monday, December 29, from 2:00 to 2:50 p.m.
  • Sunday, January 4, from 2:00 to 3:50 p.m.
