Heat Warning in Effect - June 22 to 24

Please be advised a heat warning is in effect, expected to extend to Tuesday night, June 24. Daytime highs are expected to reach 33 to 36 degrees, with humidex values of 42 to 46 degrees and overnight lows of 22 to 25 degrees. During this time, it is important to monitor yourself and others and watch for signs of heat illness.

These high temperatures and humidity can also affect air quality. Please keep this in mind when outside and utilize the various cooling stations within the town:

  • Scugog Community Recreation Centre: 8:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. (Please note, the hall will be occupied June 23, 2025. The Arena lobbies will remain open as a cooling centre)
    • This facility has bottle-fill stations in the Arena pads.
  • Scugog Memorial Public Library: Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; Tuesday and Thursday 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.; Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; Sunday 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
    • This facility has a bottle-fill station.
  • Birdseye Pool: Visit our Swimming page to view a full schedule.
  • Splash Pad: 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
