June is Recreation and Parks Month

Scugog – June is Recreation and Parks Month (JRPM) is an initiative that promotes getting active throughout the month, encouraging a healthy lifestyle as well as fun for the community!

In celebration of the month, we have partnered with Durham Tourism, the Durham Region Health Department, and municipalities across Durham to host community events and a prize draw to win a brand-new bicycle! To be entered in the draw, simply attend at least three events listed on the JRPM Passport and scan the unique QR code at each event. After three unique scans are done, you will be entered! This prize draw is open to all residents in Durham Region. Children and youth 17 years and under will need parental permission to participate.

Throughout June, we will be hosting the following four events in Scugog:

  • FREE Games in Palmer Park: June 4, 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.
  • 55th Annual Canoe the Nonquon: June 7, starts at 8:00 a.m. Registration is available online
  • FREE Swim at Birdseye Pool: June 16, 6:10 to 8:00 p.m.
  • FREE Crafts in Palmer Park: June 18, 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.
