New Playground Coming for Roy E. Carter Park in Blackstock

The installation for the new playground at Roy E. Carter Park on Crestview Avenue in Blackstock will begin the week of October 16, 2023! The existing playground was sold at a public auction and will be removed on October 13.

The Township has an inventory of 16 playgrounds and is working to replace one playground each year to keep the equipment in good condition and safe for children to use.

We want to thank all of those that provided feedback on the new playground equipment earlier this year. The new playground will include:

• Junior and senior combined climber
• Catwalk Bridge
• Spiral Climber to the 1.6 m (64 inch) deck
• Four swings including an accessible swing
• Trail Climber
• Wavy Rung
• 1 m (40 inch) curved slide
• 6 m (64 inch) double slide
• Tick-tac-toe panel
• Wheel panel
• Free-standing overhead climber
• Ground level quiet retreat
• Ground level counter panel
• Ground level seat spinner
• Engineered wood fibre play surface
