Notice of Special Council Meeting on Monday, November 17, 2025

Please take notice that the Corporation of the Township of Scugog will hold a Special Council meeting on Monday, November 17, 2025, at 9:30 a.m. pursuant to Section 240 of the Municipal Act, 2001. The meeting will take place in Council Chambers located at 181 Perry Street, Port Perry. 

The following matter will be considered at the Special Council Meeting:

• 2026 Draft Consolidated (Operating and Capital) Budget and 2027 through 2030 Capital Forecast

Residents are reminded that as of May 1, 2025, the Province of Ontario expanded Strong Mayor Powers for several municipalities in Ontario, including the Township of Scugog. Visit our Strong Mayor Powers webpage to learn more about this authority.

Under the Strong Mayor Powers authority, the Mayor is responsible for preparing and proposing a budget to Council by February 1 of each year.

The draft Budget is available on our Scugog Budget project page. Residents can provide comments to budget staff through the above page or by email at budget@scugog.ca 

The Special Council meeting agenda will be published and available to the public as of Thursday, November 13, 2025. 

Any public wishing to delegate to a matter on the agenda will have the opportunity to submit a delegation request, provided they have not delegated on the same matter in the past six (6) months. Received delegation requests will be included in an addendum to be issued on Friday, November 14, 2025. Requests must be submitted no later than 12:00 p.m., for inclusion on the addendum.
