Notice of Time Change to Upcoming Council Meeting of June 22, 2026
Preliminary notice of additional Special Council Meeting to be held July 13, 2026
Please take notice that; the previously scheduled Council meeting of Monday, June 22, 2026, originally scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. will now begin at 5:00 p.m.
The meeting will begin in closed session to consider the following matters:
- Two (2) labour relations or employee negotiations pursuant to Section 239 (2)(d) of the Municipal Act, 2001, with respect to the 2027 Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Contract Negotiations and Fire and Emergency Services discussion.
- One (1) litigation or potential litigation matter, including matters before administrative tribunals, affecting the municipality or local board, pursuant to Section 239(2)(e) of the Municipal Act, 2001, and to discuss advice that is subject to solicitor-client privilege, including communications necessary for that purpose, pursuant to Section 239(2)(f) with respect to an update regarding the Greenbank Litigation matter in the Township of Scugog.
- Two (2) proposed or pending acquisitions or dispositions of lands by the municipality or local board pursuant to Section 239(2)(c) of the Municipal Act, 2001, with respect to the Old Cartwright High School and the Blackstock United Church.
The closed session portion of the meeting will not be livestreamed or open to the public.
The open session of the meeting is scheduled to commence at 6:30 p.m.
The agenda for the June 22, 2026, Council meeting will be published and available for the public to view as of Thursday, June 18, 2026. This and the upcoming livestream will be accessible through our Council & Committee Calendar.
Further to this, a Special Council Meeting will be held on July 13, 2026, to discuss matters relating to the Your Voice, Your Fairgrounds Visioning Exercise. Additional information to follow.
