Old Simcoe Road Closure – Dr. Archer Drive to Chimney Hill Drive/ Bay Street

Monday, May 15, to Friday, May 19.

A full road closure is scheduled on Old Simcoe Road beginning Monday, May 15, 2023. The road is being closed to allow the installation of a sewer for Balsam Street.

No through traffic will be allowed for the duration of the closure. Local traffic will be maintained to the residences on Old Simcoe Road. The sidewalk on the east or west side of the road will remain open for pedestrians, depending on the progress of construction. Please follow the pedestrian detour signs to utilize the open sidewalk. 

Detour signage will be installed to direct the traffic around the closure on the arterial roads.

Southbound Detour Routes:

• Old Simcoe Rd to Reach St, to Simcoe St, to Scugog St, to Old Simcoe Road, or
• Old Simcoe Rd to Reach St, to Hwy 7/12, to Scugog Line 6, to Hwy 7A, to Scugog St, to Old Simcoe Rd

Northbound Detour Routes:

• Old Simcoe Rd to Scugog St, to Simcoe St, to Reach St, to Old Simcoe Rd
• Old Simcoe Rd to Scugog St, to Hwy 7A, to Scugog Line 6, to Hwy 7/12, to Reach St, to Old Simcoe Rd
