Remembrance Day 2023 Services

In honour of those who gave their lives defending and protecting our home, and all those who have served and continue to serve, there will be various services within Scugog in recognition of Remembrance Day on November 11, 2023.

In Port Perry, The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 419 will host a parade starting in front of the Scugog Memorial Public Library at 10:30 a.m., leading to the Cenotaph in front of the Township of Scugog Municipal Office (181 Perry Street), where a service will begin at 10:45 a.m. There will be various temporary road closures from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. to accommodate the parade, including:

• Water Street from Scugog Memorial Public Library to Queen Street
• Queen Street from Water to Perry Street
• Perry Street from Queen to North Street
• North Street from Perry to Water Street

The Blackstock Lions Club will also be hosting a ceremony at the Blackstock Hall from 10:00 to 10:30 a.m., including a walk to the corner Cenotaph. There will also be refreshments afterwards.

Everyone is welcome to join in these services to honour the brave souls who fought and those who continue to fight for us all.

Additionally, Township facilities will be closed Friday, November 10, in observance of Remembrance Day.
