Your Voice, Your Fairgrounds Interactive Mapping Activity

Scugog – On Wednesday, May 13, residents were given the opportunity to attend the Your Voice, Your Fairgrounds interactive community workshop, where they reviewed four draft conceptual options for the future use of the lands, as well as provided input on the concepts overall, which elements and amenities they like and don’t like, and whether a combination of amenities from the different concepts would be favourable.

These draft concepts are exploratory planning tools intended to help better understand community values, priorities, opportunities, and concerns – they by no means represent a final proposal, decision, or direction. They are building on the key themes identified by the community in round one of engagement, to gather more specific data on what the community would and wouldn’t like to see on the land.

If you were unable to attend the workshop, digital options are now available on our Interactive Mapping Activity project page. These options include:

  • Digital mapping tool replicating the activities from the workshop. Residents can view each proposal in detail and ‘add a marker’ on the map to note their thoughts on any given amenity. Other users can then upvote/downvote on the ideas listed.
  • Commenting tool where users can submit general input that is not specific to a certain concept or amenity;
  • Digital questionnaire including all input opportunities from the materials package distributed at each workshop session.

These options will be available until Friday, May 22. Results from these tools and the community workshops will be analyzed and reflected in the final report at the end of June.

Further information about the project can be found on the Your Voice, Your Fairgrounds project page.
