Various Zoning By-Law Amendment proposals have been received and will be discussed at the April 20 Planning and Community Affairs Committee meeting.

The Council of the Township of Scugog has received an application for a Draft Plan of Subdivision and an application to amend Zoning By-law No. 14-14 on the lands known as 1370 King Street.

Purpose and Effect of the Zoning By-law Amendment Application:

Township of Scugog has received the 3rd submission for a Draft Plan of Subdivision (S-S-2021-01) and a Zoning By-law Amendment (Z-2021-01) for lands described as 1370 King Street in the Hamlet of Manchester by D.G. Biddle & Associates on behalf of O’Connor Bros. Corp. and Trademark Homes. 

The 3rd submission of the Draft Plan of Subdivision proposes to reduce the number of proposed single detached lots from nine (9) to six (6) with frontage and access onto King Street. The dwellings are proposed to be serviced via private servicing (septic system and well). 

The Zoning By-law Amendment application proposes to rezone the subject lands from "Future Development (FD)" Zone to "Hamlet Residential – Private Service (HR1)” Zone to facilitate the proposed development.

These applications were deemed complete as of March 22, 2021 by the Region and Township.

Public Meeting:

The Council of the Township of Scugog will hold a Public Meeting to provide interested parties with the opportunity to learn more about the proposed Draft Plan of Subdivision or Zoning By-law Amendment, make comments, and provide additional information relative to the proposed amendment before any decisions are made on the Draft Plan or re-zoning applications. This public meeting will be held on:

In Person: Use the rear entrance located between the original building and the south wing and take the elevator or stairs to the 2nd floor. Parking is available at the rear of the building.

Virtually: Residents can also participate electronically and watch the meeting live through the Township’s website at: https://www.scugog.ca/en/township-office/council-committee-calendar.aspx

The Council of the Township of Scugog has received an application to amend Zoning By-Law No. 14-14 on the lands known as 1401 Scugog Line 6 for a Temporary Use, shown on the attached key map.

Purpose and Effect of the Zoning By-law Amendment Application:
The purpose of the Zoning By-law Amendment Application is to grant a Temporary Use By-law for up to 3 years to permit an annual fundraising event hosted by Big Brothers Big Sisters of North Durham, on the subject lands.

The application was deemed complete as of March 16, 2026.

Purpose and Effect of the Proposed Zoning By-law Amendment:
The purpose of the application is to rezone the Subject Lands from Rural Commercial Exception 14 (C6-14) to Hamlet Residential – Partial Service Exception XX (HR2-XX) Zone and Neighbourhood Commercial Exception XX (C1-XX) Zone to permit the future development of one (1) residential lot and two (2) commercial lots. This application was deemed complete on February 9, 2026.
