The Scugog Business Program
A Business Retention and Expansion Project
In partnership with the Region of Durham, the Township of Scugog will be launching the Scugog Business Program (SBP) in 2023. The project is funded in part by the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs.
What is the Scugog Business Program (SBP)?
The SBP is a Business Retention and Expansion (BR&E) Project that’s been tailored to best support Scugog’s business community. This is a structured, action-orientated, and community-based approach to business and economic development. The SBP consists of four stages:
Why undertake the SBP?
With 76-90% of new jobs being created by pre-existing businesses, it is imperative that the businesses within our community are properly supported. The SBP aims to do this by opening direct lines of communication between business owners, the Township, and the Region, and by collecting first-hand information in order to address commonly faced issues. This groundwork will also assist with making Scugog a place of choice for prospective new businesses, further strengthening and expanding the local economy.
Be the change you wish to see in your community – participate in the Scugog Business Program!
We are currently looking for volunteers to interview businesses throughout the Township, as well as business representatives to be surveyed. To express interest, please complete the signup form below. Individuals selected to participate as volunteer interviewers will be contacted with further instructions on how to proceed and will receive training prior to the surveying period. Business representatives will be contacted during Stage II with survey details.
