Join us in celebrating 50 years of the Scugog Arena

Scugog – The Scugog Arena, located at 1655 Reach Street, is turning 50 this year and you are invited to the birthday party! Join us as we celebrate 50 incredible years of memories, milestones, and community spirit!

For five decades, the Scugog Arena has been a cornerstone of our community, hosting generations of athletes, families, volunteers, and fans across hockey, figure skating, ringette, broomball, lacrosse, and ball hockey. To honour this legacy, we are hosting two special anniversary events on Saturday, September 19, 2026: a Community Open House (all ages) and a 50th Anniversary Dance (19+).

The Community Open House, taking place from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., will showcase historic items, photos, and memorabilia representing five decades of sports, events, and community moments. Whether you grew up in Scugog, played here, or cheered from the stands, this is your chance to relive the memories and celebrate the legacy! Do you have memories you’d like to share? You can submit a story or photo to the Scugog Arena 50th Committee that will be included in the Open House!

The celebration will continue for the Anniversary Dance (ages 19+) from 7:00 p.m. to midnight. We will be hitting the dance floor and celebrating the 50 years in style! Light refreshments will be served with bar service available, and a live DJ will be spinning some cross-generation hits to get everyone moving! Please note, this is a ticketed event with ticket purchases of $20 for one or $30 for two. Tickets can be purchased through our online form or at the Scugog Arena.

If you’re looking to show a bit extra Scugog spirit when attending, Scugog 50th hats are available for purchase for $35 at the Scugog Arena! You can also submit payment online and pick up the hat from the arena.

Are you looking to get more involved? There are sponsorship opportunities available to anyone interested. Sponsorship partners help make this event a success while supporting continued enhancement of the Scugog Arena. It also offers an opportunity to show the community your involvement with and dedication to the local sports scene, as well as have your company name and/or logo highlighted at the event!
