Scugog Election Nominations Open May 1

Anyone interested in running in the next municipal election in Scugog can begin filing nomination papers starting Friday, May 1, 2026, at 8:30 a.m. Nominations must be filed in person or by an authorized agent with the Clerk’s Office, located at 181 Perry Street, Port Perry.

The deadline to file nomination papers is 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 21, 2026.

May 1 is also the first day an individual, corporation or trade union can register as a third-party advertiser.

The deadline for third-party advertisers to file notice of registration is October 23, 2026, at 4:30 p.m. The campaign period begins once a candidate files their nomination or a third-party advertiser files their notice of registration, and the notice is certified by the township clerk.

*Appointments are required for those wishing to file a nomination paper or register as a third-party advertiser. Please arrange by calling the Clerk’s office at 905-985-2791 or by emailing election@scugog.ca.
