Township of Scugog launches Your Voice, Your Fairgrounds

A community conversation about the Port Perry Fairgrounds.

Scugog – We have officially launched Your Voice. Your Fairgrounds., a community-wide conversation about the future of the Port Perry Fairgrounds — a place of gathering, celebration, and community pride for more than a century.

This is the first comprehensive community consultation about the Fairgrounds in more than 100 years. Over the coming months, the Township, Darwin Pivot, and J.L. Richards (JLR) will be listening with residents, partners, and local organizations to understand what the Fairgrounds mean to people and the ideas and values that should guide its next chapter.

Our commitment

Our commitment to the community is guided by four key principles:

  • Transparent and Trustworthy – We’ll build trust through transparency by being open and honest every step of the way.
  • Open and Fair – Everyone deserves a fair chance to be heard. We’ll make participation open and accessible for all.
  • Community-Focused – This is your Fairgrounds, and your ideas will help shape its future.
  • Mutually Respectful – We’ll listen with respect and empathy, even when perspectives differ.

Quote, Mayor Wilma Wotten

My wish is that all voices are captured over the coming months from the Agricultural Society, community organizations, families, youth, and our seniors to ensure we hear from as many voices as possible on ideas and proposals to create a space that provides an array of benefits for all Scugog residents.”
