NO Burn Ban Currently in Effect

Please be advised there is currently no burn ban in effect for the Township of Scugog. Scugog Fire staff will continue to monitor conditions and will implement a spring burn ban if necessary. Notification will be sent to permit holders and posted to our news reel.

Reminder that all burning requires a burn permit. You can apply for one through our Burn Permit page.

The Township of Scugog's Chief Fire Prevention Officer performs building inspections to ensure they meet the standards of the Ontario Building Code and the Ontario Fire Code. 

When do I need an inspection? 

A fire inspection may be required when: 

  • You are selling a property 
  • You are completing renovations 
  • You have installed a wood stove 
  • You change the zoning of your property
