Please read your program description carefully. All programs have been labeled as Red Level programs or Orange Level programs. Red Level programs will run when Durham Region is in a Red Level or better. Orange Level programs will only run when Durham Region is in an Orange Level or better. Registration for Orange Level programs will remain closed until Durham Region enters the Orange Level. All in person programs are limited to Durham Region residents only.

COVID-19 Guidelines to Know Before You Go!

 
Registration

Registration is required to participate in any program. Participants can register for programs online using our registration software. Registration dates will be announced in the Leisure and Activity Guide. Registration can also be done in-person at the Scugog Arena (1655 Reach Street) or over the phone by calling 905-985-8698. 

Child and Youth Programs

  • Participants and parents/guardians must wear a mask at all times while in the facility, until the start of the program.
  • Only one parent/guardian may enter the facility to accompany the child participating in the program.
  • During the program all participants aged nine years or older (grade four and up) are required to wear a mask if 3m distance cannot be maintained throughout the entire program. All participants will be encouraged to wear a mask.
Adult Fitness Programs
  •  Participants must arrive fully dressed for their program. No change room facilities will be open. 
  • Participants must wear a mask at all times while in the facility, until the start of the program.
  • Once in their exercise space participants may remove their mask to participate in their program.
  • All participants will be required to disinfect their equipment before leaving the program
Facility Admittance and Exits
 All areas within the facility will have capacity limits to meet physical distancing requirements. Participants will use the entrance that corresponds with the scheduled program.
  • All programs running out of the Studio, Rec Room, Lookout, Ice Pad 2 or Meeting Rooms will use the north/east pad 2 doors to enter.
  • All programs running out of the Community Centre will use the main east doors to enter.
  • All programs running out of Ice Pad 1 will use the main south arena doors.
The entrance doors will remain locked until 10 minutes prior, when participants may enter. Doors will be locked when the class starts and no admittance will be given after the doors are locked. Participants will be asked screening questions prior to their program beginning. All participants will be required to exit the facility using their designated exit for their program within 10 minutes of the program end time. 

Virtual Programs

Virtual programs utilize the Zoom facilitating platform and require participants to have a laptop, computer or tablet with audio and video capabilities as well as access to reliable internet. Participants will receive the Zoom link prior to their first class. 

 Refund Policy and Tax Receipts 
The Community Services Department must receive all requests for withdrawals/refunds by email to recreation@scugog.ca. A full refund will be provided for any withdrawal or refund request submitted at least seven (7) business days before the course start date.

Requests submitted less than seven (7) business days before the course start date will receive a refund, less a $10 administration fee. There is no $10 administration fee if the refund remains as a credit on your account. Account credits will be kept on the client account for a maximum period of 12 months. After the 12 months the account credit will be forfeited. 

Requests submitted on, or after, the course start date will NOT receive a refund.

Medical refund requests will be assessed at any point during the session, must be accompanied by a doctor’s note and will be prorated to the date of the medical occurrence that prevented continued participation in the applicable program. 

If the Community Services Department cancels a program, including programs that fail to meet minimum enrollment, you will be notified prior to the course start date. At this time you have the option to switch to another program or receive a full refund or account credit.

Remember to keep your registration receipt(s), which can be used as a tax receipt. If you require another tax receipt to be issued, a $10 administrative fee will apply.
