The Scugog Shores Museum Village and Archives is continuously working to digitize the collection.
To view photos of the collection and digital exhibits please visit our Google Arts and Culture platform.
To view digitized copies of select archival research material such as Assessment Rolls and Burial Registries, please visit our VitaCollections platform.
The archives contain the following resources for the former Reach, Scugog, Port Perry, and Cartwright townships, now all part of the Township of Scugog:
- Assessment rolls
- Birth/death/marriage registers
- Personal and agricultural census
- Municipal records
- Women's Institute records
- Deeds, maps, municipal records and school records
We also have genealogy files catalogued by family name, a number of detailed family trees from local families and an extensive photographic collection.
Access to archival holdings are available by appointment only. A small resource library is available to drop-in visitors during open hours. This resource library includes local and general history books.
Submit a Research Request
To submit a research request please complete the form below. Requests are completed in the order of which they are received.
Once your request is received, staff will check our holdings and let you know what materials are available at no charge. If you would like to review any materials found, a fee will apply. Staff completed research is available at an additional charge. Please see fee structure below.
