Farm 9-1-1: The Emily Project

Farm accidents often happen in remote locations. This can make it difficult for first responders to locate the site of the emergency and respond in time. Following an accident, every second counts - but without a clear address marker, it can be difficult for first responders to find the people who need help.

To help combat this risk and keep rural residents safe, Scugog Fire and the Region of Durham have partnered with Farm 911: The Emily Project. This voluntary safety initiative encourages rural landowners to request a civic address and sign for their properties’ entrances. There is no cost to the landowner to get an address or second address.

The goal of Farm 911 is to create address markers and clear signage to help with access and response time.

How to Apply:

Please complete the application form, providing all required information. Completed applications will be reviewed by Township staff, and applicants will be contacted upon completion of the review, or if additional information is required.
